The Crystal Room

Taken In the old Fairmont Hotel in Victoria BC. We were staying there and I knew I had to get a picture. The room itself was closed to the public, luckily I asked the manager of the entire hotel. I was so lucky he was there ^^. The story to this room that it was once a sitting area, no one knows when it was built, but it could have been made after the building was constructed around 1902. Apparently one day the glass (what you are seeing in the picture) was broken, they just covered it up with a new ceiling, with the glass still there! Years later, now in the 90's when they wanted to restore the hotel they found the glass hidden there. It was shipped away, fixed and brought back to life. The room itself is small and aquamarine looking, marble floors and walls. The stained glass (the picture) was coloured with reds, pinks and more so greens and blues. You really gotta go see it. ^^
